Motorcycling through the Pacific Northwest, Aug, 2002

Compared with last year's motorcycle trip, this year's was quite a bit shorter. I only had a week, but there were areas of Oregon that I really wanted to see, especially Hells Canyon and the coast. And, since the timing coincided with the "Stanley Stomp" BMW motorcycle rally, I got to swing back through the Sawtooth Mts. in central Idaho again, meeting up with a couple of riding buddies there.

Regarding the stats; 7 days, 4 states and 2800 miles.

One difference from the 2001 trip is that I was riding my new '02 BMW R1150RS. Very similar to my '96 R1100RS I had last year, but still improved in a lot of ways. The bike ran flawlessly (except when one runs over rocks...), I'm still amazed at how versatile this machine is.

The links below offer some insights and photos of the areas I covered on this trip.
