Motorcycling through the Canadian Rockies,
July, 2004

This year's trip was planned to coincide with the national BMW Motorcycle Owners of America (MOA) Northwest Passage Rally in Spokane, Washington. I'm not really a huge rally fan, but this was a national one afterall, with several thousand riders in attendance. Compared with last year's motorcycle trip, this one was a bit longer at 4,300 miles as it included a "foreign" country and an Ironbutt ride to boot.

The Canadian Rockies were as fantastic as I remembered them from previous times there, although a little wetter this time. Riding in general in Canada was great--really nice people, really fun roads, fantastic scenery, fewer cars, and even less police.

We met some good folks at the rally and along the way, although we didn't hook up with as many from the BMW RS Club site that we had planned on.

Next year, south of the border into Baja, Mexico, anyone?
